A big hello to San Miguel School!

Hello San Miguel students and parents!

My name is Nabihah and I am the new English Language assistant here at the school. Many of you have met me already and I will be working here until next May. I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself to you a little and tell you a bit more about my role.

I am from Bristol, a city in the South West of England. I'm in my third year of University, studying a joint honours degree of English and Spanish. I will be working with the Bilingual Department team at San Miguel School helping to deliver Science classes to all grades.

Being a native speaker of English, my intention is to assist with the learning of the language through various resources and fun methods. This way we can improve pronunciation, conversation, reading and writing skills and have fun at the same time! But remember - you are more than welcome to come and speak to me any time you like. I love meeting new people :)

In the last few weeks i've met some absolutely fantastic students, so i cannot wait to see what unfolds in the next few months. We've been very busy at San Miguel. With 6th Grade we have been learning about the Digestive System and Nutrition - they sure know their facts!

In the 4th Grade classes we have been focussing on The Relation Function and learning all the key facts about the Nervous System. We all had a go at the 'Patellar Reflex' sometimes known as the 'Knee Jerk Reflex'  to see who had the quickest reflex in the class.

Finally in 1st Grade we have been learning all about the 5 senses. We sang a song about all the things we could See, Hear, Smell, Taste and Touch! The children are also making some excellent sense posters, which will be finished on Friday. The best poster will receive a prize, so keep an eye open for the winning poster!
