This event is focused on a few ways to enhance the degree of students’ involvement in projects, as well as on specific examples of activities and tools than can be used to achieve this goal. Due to the specific features of Maths projects and to the “arid” nature of the subject, the Maths projects should have an incentive aspect, that can be achieved through the types of activities that are planned, the degree of collaboration and the tools that are used. Mathematics can thus become a “vehicle” for learning about the partners and for the mutual understanding of our cultural environment. The final aim of the event is to help the participating teachers (all of us!) to enhance the quality of their projects by going from just exchanging information to collaborative and involving partnerships in which students and teachers not only communicate but also learn together, by constructing their own learning route.
Do you want to try this in your classroom? I just started in our 1st grade and we had a very good experience in 'Creative Maths'
