The much-awaited day of the year has finally arrived—it's Christmas! The festive season fills our hearts with joy, and our students have embraced the holiday spirit wholeheartedly. They decorated the Christmas tree and learned Christmas-related English vocabulary with love and excitement. It’s hard to find a classroom without festive Christmas tree décor, and it’s undoubtedly the favorite part of the season for many of us.
But do you know when the first Christmas tree was decorated and what it truly signifies?
The tradition of decorating a Christmas tree dates back to the 16th century when German Lutherans first introduced it. Being an evergreen tree, it symbolizes hope, renewal, and eternal life. It also conveys a beautiful message of togetherness, as it brings people together to create new memories and share moments of joy.
This year, we celebrated Christmas with these sentiments in our hearts as we bid adieu to 2024 and welcome the New Year with hope and happiness. Our celebrations included a variety of fun and engaging activities:
- Learning Christmas-themed vocabulary
- Crafting snowmen
- Writing letters to Santa Claus
- Making miniature Christmas trees
...and so much more!
